Take a visit to Philipsburg, Montana and you will find a little town of 900 that is quirky, spooky, steeped in history and rough around the edges. Just like the town where they reside, Ben Larson and the Grownass Men bring to the stage a completely original sound that doesn’t quite fit in any one musical genre. With roots in Country/Western storytelling, bluegrass, US National Guard Brass band and a sugar high at an unsupervised daycare, Ben and the band combine their vastly different life experiences into original songs of daily life in modern rural Montana, the ghosts of Montana’s past and wry words of wisdom compiled over years of living outside and working with their hands. Be ready for family friendly singalongs and completely unexpected covers that will have your twisting your ear horns and politely asking for more!
The Grownass Men were road warriors in 2023, playing 117 shows from Harlowton to Dillon to Whitefish, opening for bands such as Big Richard, Eli Howard and the Greater Good and Laney Lou and the Bird Dogs and building a dedicated following in every small Montana town along the way. Their tour continues in 2024 with a plan to play all 56 counties in the state of Montana. They are opening for a variety of bands including the Wilder Blue, Driftwood and Aidan Canfield.
Their debut self-titled EP Ben Larson and the Grownass Men, can be found on all major streaming platforms. Their new single “Dirtbag” is available now wherever music is heard.
